Betty Jean MacKinney

Betty Jean MacKinney of Chandler, AZ passed away on May 30, 2012 in Chandler. She was 87 years old. Betty was born on August 22, 1924 in Pine River, MN to Ervin and Sadie Lembke.

Betty married Paul Milton MacKinney June 17, 1944, in Pine River, MN.

After completing business college, Betty was employed at Brown and Bigelow in St Paul, MN; Pine River High School; Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. Betty volunteered at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL and Wheaton Academy, West Chicago, IL. Most of her working years were spent alongside her husband, Paul, as secretary/treasurer of their family business, Concrete Controls Corporation in Wheaton, Illinois.

Betty was a member of various churches. She belonged to First Baptist, Wheaton, IL; Wheaton Bible, Wheaton; Carlsbad Community, Carlsbad, CA; and Chandler Bible Church, Chandler, AZ.

She enjoyed cooking, reading and painting ceramics. She loved spending time with her family especially around the dinner table during the holidays.

Betty is survived by her husband of 67 years Paul M. MacKinney of Chandler, AZ, two sons: Paul (Barbara) MacKinney of Chandler, AZ, Jon (Jan) MacKinney of Chandler, AZ, two daughters: Carol (James) Romig of Colorado Springs, CO and Sandra MacKinney of Chandler AZ, 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia MacKinney, a brother, John Lembke and a sister Joan (James) Morgan. A one hour visitation followed by funeral services will be held on Saturday June 2, 2012 at 12:00 PM at Chandler Bible Church 1200 N Price Rd Chandler, AZ 85226.
